BVB Special Jersey 25/26

On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Rote Erde stadium, Borussia Dortmund is presenting an exclusive special-edition kit. The shirt incorporates key design elements of the stadium that have been preserved to this day and shape the unique atmosphere of this historic venue. The pattern of the shirt is inspired by the stadium’s two entrance gates, in particular the distinctive Marathon Gate. The sleeves, collar and lettering reference the characteristic running track that surrounds the pitch and has been part of the sporting action for decades. The colour scheme and look of the BVB logo are inspired by the sandstone walls that have framed the ground since it opened in 1926. On the back of the neck of the shirt, the inscription “100 Jahre Stadion Rote Erde” (“100 Years of Rote Erde Stadium”) can be found. 100 Years Stadium Rote Erde

In June 1926, a stadium was opened in Dortmund that would go on to become a legend: the “Kampfbahn Rote Erde”, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year. Between 1936 and 1974, it was home to BVB’s first team – including the legendary “match of the century” against Benfica Lisbon in December 1963. Today, the stadium is the home ground of our U23s and the BVB women’s team. Here, history is not only preserved, but lived to this day.
